The Quilters Edge is a unique device which allows you to shine a beam of light across your quilt to use as a reference point without actually making any marks on your quilt.  It attaches to any quilt frame quickly and easily without altering your frame.  All you need is a tape measure or a ruler and 5 minutes.

The Quilters Edge is a unique device that I came up with to solve the problem of not knowing how much room there is before hitting the back roll on the quilting frame with your machine, causing those unwanted flat spots or points in your quilting designs.

My name is Kevin. I am a certified repair technician for home and industrial sewing machines. I also create custom embroidery designs. To relieve stress from the everyday grind it was suggested to me to try machine quilting to keep the creative process going in my usually confused mind. When I started free- motion quilting it was fun and exciting to me until I started hitting the frame of the machine with the quilt roll. That was just simply unacceptable to me. I wanted my work to look good. Did I mention I’m a bit of a perfectionist also. When making what should have been nice smooth curves I would unexpectedly hit the quilt roll and then...well, if you have machine quilted you know. The dreaded points or flat spots in your beautiful family heirloom, or in a good friend’s or customer’s quilt. That is not only embarrassing it just doesn’t look good or very professional. This is why I came up with the concept of The Quilters Edge. I made the first prototype for myself. Some of the customers that came into the store where I work saw me using it and thought they couldn’t live or quilt without one for themselves.  So I refined the design and polished it up a bit and here we have it...THE QUILTERS EDGE.
